The Wool Factory's Story - Beginning to Present Day

2008 our journey began: Founded in late 2008 The Wool Factory began as a small Market Stall in the seaside resort of Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire. A small selection of yarns and a lot of heart.

2009 - 2013: We took on a unit at Ingoldmells Market and you could also find us dotted around different Market Towns around Lincolnshire. We loved the hustle & bustle of Market Life and the fantastic customers we met along the way.

May 2013: The beginning of The Wool Factory Online Website. Grant (owner) spent weeks/months designing, editing & adding products online. It started off extremely slow but with much determination and perseverance by the end of the year we started to have a steady trickle of customers.

2013 - 2017: Our Market stalls gradually started to slow down and our online was picking up year on year. We moved from working everything from home to our first unit and we carried on pushing forward.

In the Middle of 2013-17 (2015): Our beautiful daughter 'Aurora' was born. Born with Cystic Fibrosis she spent her first 3 months of life in Sheffield Children's Hospital and underwent two operations. She was and still very much is a little fighter, extremely determined and very very feisty!

December 2017: We moved to our current shop premises and opened our very first shop, while still running all online from the same premises. It was a very exciting time for us.

2018 - 2020: Our shop improved year on year and we have seen customers from all over the Country. We continued to expand our ranges and try to offer the best selection and service we possibly can.

2020 & Covid-19: Although faced with a lot of difficulties our magnificent customers have seen us through one of the most trying times yet. Thank you all!
As our Daughter has 'CF' and was on the shielding list until 1st Aug our shop has unfortunately remained closed to try and provide as much protection to her as we can.
We very luckily and thankfully managed to keep trading online through this whole period.
